More Lace

Since my blog is worth over $1000, I decided I could afford to get enough lace yarn to knit Mim's Adamas Shawl. I bought three hanks of Shadow in Lost Lake. I think this shawl will be for me!
I'm looking forward to doing a whole lotta nothing this weekend. I am almost done with the first of two socks for Jered. They are a little wide, but he does have man legs, so... we'll see.

Where the buns are

Right now both Jered and I are camped out on our sofas. I promised pictures earlier, and I figured out why blogger wasn't working (it wasn't actually blogger, it's the new browser I use, Flock).


Today was long and cold, and I'm glad that the day is officially over. Tomorrow is Jered's birthday and I'm taking the evening off, no families, no class, just us and dinner over at my parents' place. They are making steaks and got a cake from Coldstone. I'm quite excited, it should be a good time. I also can't wait for Jered to open his present tomorrow, I think I might even wake him up early so that I don't have to wait any longer to give it to him. He has recently been blogging about my interpretive dancing tendencies. Check out his blog. I was thinking of interpretive dancing to "Happy Birthday" tomorrow. Maybe I'll practice a little tonight ;)

I wish I could stay home all day just like Floyd. He gets to spend his Mondays doing what he does every other day of the week. Hang out on our new furniture, sleep, eat, poop, sleep. What a life!

I had supervision this morning, but no meeting with my bosses. It was rainy all day and I just wanted to be at home. Tonight I had three families, and they all showed up, and I could tell it was a rainy day. Everyone was a little wet and tired and ready to go home (including me). But overall it wasn't too late of a night and I was able to come home and make dinner at 3:30 so that it was ready when I got home (smart move). Jered's birthday is on Wednesday. I am going crazy keeping his present a secret. He is taking Wednesday off, and won't let me skip class that night. Something about me needing an education... hmmm.
Anyhow, Here's Floyd, my picture for the day until I can get blogger working again!

Marshmallows

Now that I've figured out how to post pictures through blogger/flickr I can post many more pictures. I spent yesterday making homemade marshmallows from a recipe I found while perusing Cooking Light at Barnes and Nobles yesterday. This morning they were done "setting," and I cut them and rolled them in powdered sugar. How weird is it that you can make your own marshmallows? And they really taste and feel like marshmallows too (squishy, foamy, soft, marshmallowy). Take a look.
I will post more pictures as soon as blogger's picture function starts working again. For now, today will just be a marshmallow picture day. Ahhh. Lovely.
