PLANS OF THE EAGLE by Daniel Prud'homme
The COMMAND MODULE | The SATURN V KIT

Please keep in mind Daniel Prud'hommes plans as they are a comprehensive source of information. See the link above.
This page has been culled for bandwith and with the availability of Daniels CAD renderings, it is no longer necessary. I used to have a fiew diagrams and scale drawings on this page but when Daniel made his CAD drawings there was no need, I have a link to his CAD page on all my pages.
The beginning of the project, summer 1996, started with the Starlog blueprints that I had since I was 12 years old. I soon discovered these plans were not nearly accurate enough so I obtained the Philip D. Rae ones from Robert Ruiz and I was off measureing from blow-ups. I enlarged areas of the plan to reflect 43.25" overall and to some other known values. The Scale on some of Phills' plan is not accurate to the 44" ( methinks ) The plans must be of a 22"? Looks very close to some of the measurements of the Comet 22" kit.
The article from Sci-Fi Modeler on David Sissons 44" Eagle is a great reference also. Much of what problems he writes about I've ran into. One word of advice I took from his article is to keep the weight down, the thing already has some serious mass. I'll have to put rush on those anti-grav units,,, Months traveling through space and those guys in technical...Ooopse, wrong rant..
These plans are derived from some of the known values of the bells so I don't know if they are accurate for sure. They do look prety close, though. The Engine Bells are going to be the most difficult part of the model to make. They need to be machined and milled. I have a mill and a lathe so I'm in the process of making these now. (!)
This strange looking diagram with the circles is the cage that the Engines Reaction Chambers and forward propulsion bells are mounted in. The view is from the rear and shows the part that connects to the body and the rings that space the four bells.
Don't forget to check out Daniels plans of the Eagle linked at the top of the page, Fantastic hardly describes them. If you are building a replica 44" Eagle, these plans can give you the layout, measurements and templates for ALL the parts as you go! If you have read to this point and still have not looked at them then you really should now.
Roberto's UEB's (Ultimate Eagle Blueprints) are no doubt the most objective plans I've seen especially if you are going to have Boeing make you a real Eagle. As soon as I get a set of these marvelous plans, I think I'll start on my next Eagle, one with an interior.
Our Cybrarian tells me you can get
them directly from Roberto at:
