John Confer

I have not found the time to participate class events, but, nonetheless, I do like to know what others have been doing. Maybe now that I am retired I will find some time to get involved. I do have a desk and connection with the school computer server and the assistance of administration for grant writing and financial administration and personnel for the potential to hire assistants, as well as three, small grants that are continuing.

This past week I gave a seminar at a bird conference, and at an international meeting on environmental studies programs, and chaired a meeting of a New York State Ornithological Association on wind power, and conducted two breeding bird surveys, and have a returned ms sitting on my desk that needs revision for The Auk.

You would think that someone who is retired would not be signed up to do
so much. But, it sure beats boredom.
