After graduation I went on to theological school. (Some may remember that Rachel Billings "62 and I were married the day before graduation, and that I missed the graduation ceremony having my appendix removed). After being graduated from theological school in Chicago, I served the Unitarian Universalist Church in Wausau, Wisconsin for four years (Rachel and I divorced there after ten years of marriage and two children while I was there). The next 27 years were spent serving Eliot Unitarian Chapel in Kirkwood, Missouri (it was never in my life plan but that is what happened). The highlights of that time, besides the joys of ministry were a sabbatical in England, and four trips to the Transylvanian region of Romania, to assist a Unitarian church founded at the time of the reformation in a small village there. In 2000 I retired from Eliot Chapel. After eighteen months of rest, I was recruited to do interim ministry. And so spent two years in the Boston area (Taunton and Milton), two years in the heart of San Francisco, and a year in Devon, PA. In June of this year I hung up my robe and am trying to be retired. I have been blessed to be married for 26 years to Diane Weber. My son is in San Jose, CA with his wife and two daughters, my older daughter in living in Milwaukee, her son 17 (am I old enough to have a grandchild that age?) lives with his father here in St. Louis. And my youngest daughter, newly graduated from Smith College with a degree in Chemistry works in San Francisco for a biotech pharmaceutical company. I am looking forward to reunion and seeing all the patina that we have accumulated over 45 years.
