Christmas of 2000 brought in my first telescope, a Meade DS114 on a GEM, with the
Autostar controller. One of my very first views through this 4.5" newtonian was
of the Great Orion Nebula. I was hooked. Within 2 months, I bought an 8" LX10,
2 months later, an ETX-60 for my kids, then in August of 2001, I made the grand
leap, a 12" LX200. Running a close second to my wife and children (and I do
mean a CLOSE second), this scope is my pride and joy. I hope to share with you
some of my thoughts, my photos, and my overall enthusiasim for this grand hobby. Don Spencer |
