Mollie Powell, born in Rockfish, Virginia was my great grandmother. Her great grandparents were Casper and Catherine Powell who lived in eighteenth century Albemarle County, Virginia. Herein I have published her ancestry to them.
The image above is of the great granddaughter of Casper and Catherine Powell, my great grandmother's sister. I made the image from a photograph sent to me by Cousin Jean (Weade) Parker. She wrote "I have a slide that my husband Bill took of Sara Lewis Ballard. I want to get some prints made from it. I don't know how well they will turn out. He did a good job of taking a picture of a picture because that is not easy to do. But he had a really good camera. It was back in the 60's when he copied the picture. My Grandmother Jenny lived in Fishersville at the time. She had a picture of her mother that she kept against the wall in the back of her closet.
