Eluned's Scrye
Eluned Scrye is
a magical device that you (or someone else) can 'bond' with via your blood.
If activated by someone other than the person who bonded with it, the enchantment
will show the location of the person who is bonded with it.
*Enchantment still under research and information here
is subject to change*
This enchantment makes a scrying device out of a fish bone. By pricking your finger with the bone and allowing your blood to soak into it, your form a mystical bond with the enchantment. After that, at any time, someone else can break the bone to see a vision of your current location in the game. This functions almost exactly like the Moon Mage spell Locate, except that distance is irrelevant. However, if the target (the person who bonded with the bone) is hidden or invisible, it will not work.
Items needed to construct a Eluned Scrye enchantment:
* A fish bone (obtained by skinning a fish
that you catch)
* 1 Enchanter's Burin
* A source for the sigil of the Dolphin
* A source for the sigil of the Nightingale
* A spell that can activate sigils (Shadows, Dazzle or Unleash)
Steps to creating:
1. 'Spell up' with Seer's Sense, Clear Vision, Piercing Gaze and Aura Sight. This step is optional, but recommended.
2. With the knife in your right hand, and the fish (Caught by yourself or another fisherman)in your left, SKIN MY FISH. Random bits of the fish will pop out (Giblets, guts, fish eggs and so forth) but will also sometimes drop a fishbone. That is what you need for this enchantment. Any given fish seems to allow 3 skinning attempts, possibly giving a bone on any attempt, which means the fish can potentially yield more than one bone if you are fortunate.
3. STUDY the Dolphin constellation, or a scroll with the Dolphin sigil on it, until you memorize the sigil. If you fail when studying the Dolphin constellation, wait 3 minutes and try again. Scrolls are more forgiving and you may repeatedly try until you get it.
4. SCRIBE your fish bone with the Dolphin sigil like so, SCRIBE MY RING. Remember to have the burin in your right hand. Go back to step 3 if you fail to scribe. You do not need to activate or bind the sigil. The Dolphin sigil is merely the first step in the creation process, much like imbuing sometimes is.
5. STUDY the Nightingale constellation, or a scroll with the Nightingale sigil on it, until you memorize the sigil. If you fail when studying the Nightingale constellation, wait 3 minutes and try again. Scrolls are more forgiving and you may repeatedly try until you get it.
6. SCRIBE your fish bone with the Nightingale's sigil like so, SCRIBE MY RING. Remember to have the burin in your right hand. Go back to step 5 if you fail to scribe.
7. Activate the sigil. This is done by casting either Shadows, Dazzle, or Unleash on the fish bone. If you fail to activate the sigil before it fades away, you must go back to step 5.
8. Bind the sigil to the fish bone. To do this, simply FOCUS MY BONE. You will get a 12 second Round Time, and a little message telling you that you need to focus on the ring again in order to permanently bind the sigil to the fish bone. Keep FOCUSING on the fish bone until you bind the sigil. If you fail to bind the Nightingale's sigil before it fades, you must go back to step 5.
That's it, you're done.
Using the Eluned's Scrye enchantment:
1. The person who wants to bond to the fish bone has
to hold it and RUB MY FISHBONE. This will result
in them cutting their hand, and blood flowing into the fish bone. At this point
the fish bone will turn red and no longer be translucent white. This signifies
that it has been bonded to someone. Note: You will actually get some scuffing
to your hand by doing this.
Example:
You rub a translucent white fishbone,
cutting your thumb on the sharp edge of the thin strip. The translucent material
glows for a moment, then turns a deep shade of red.
2. The person who wants to 'find' (locate) the person
who is bonded to the bone simply has to hold the fish bone in their hands and
break it, like so: BREAK MY FISHBONE. They will
get a vision of the current location of the person who bonded with the fish
bone.
Example:
Grasping your red fishbone firmly
in both hands, you break it with a sharp *SNAP*! Your vision fades for a moment,
and you sense that <NAME> is <DESCRIPTION OF PLACE>.
