I was born to Eldrathian and Brianna Lanorix on the 28th day of the 5th month of Uthmor the Giant in the year of the Amber Phoenix, 325. Sadly both of my parents perished in the great plague, which was brought to my village by a roaming trader looking to establish more trading connections. My home village being so far from the main towns, my parents died on the trip to the healers. Their bodies were found still on the their wagon, the horse team wandering aimlessly about the country side. To prevent the wretched disease from spreading, my parents and their wagon were all put to the torch.

My father was a descendent of one of the original members of the Celestial Compact sect. It would be this fact that later drove me to join the Moon Mage guild.

My mother was a compassionate woman. Her warmness of spirit and easygoing attitude were the perfect counter balance for my fathers cold logic and stubborn need to find order in all things. I have been told that this balance found a home in me, gifting me with the best traits from each of my parents.

I know not if this is true, but I'm sure my friends would certainly agree I got the stubborn trait... if nothing else.

While not an actual member of the Moon Mage guild, my father was quite knowledgeable about the constellations and moons, due in part to his heritage I'm sure. Even though he never pressed me to seek membership in the Moon Mage guild, I sensed he secretly wished me to apply to the guild. He taught me the names of all the constellations and where in the sky they could be found. He also made sure that I always had a book in front of my face, when my chores permitted me the luxury of "free" time.

Time flew by and soon I was a young man in search of his place in life. The decision to apply to the guild of Moon Mages seemed logical; so I packed what few belongings I had and set off for the distant town of Crossing. It was in Crossing that my father had said I would find the Great Observatory, location of the nearest Moon Mage guild.

After I first met with Kssarh I was convinced I had made a mistake. After a short training period to bring some of my skills up to his standards, I was indeed allowed membership. The work was hard but rewarding, and I enjoyed making new friends.

My father later told me that the day I was accepted into the Moon Mage guild was the happiest day of his life. When asked why he himself did not join the Moon Mage guild, my father would always deflect the question by changing the subject, or simply with silence. I never did learn why he did not become a Moon Mage.

While my father's teachings of the heavens may have given me some hint at what was to come, nothing could have prepared me for my first introduction to magic!

It was love at first sight as they say. The beauty, the mystery, the power; it is my love of magic that constantly drives me to strive to better myself. It is my greatest hope that one day, when I have proven myself worthy; I will be allowed to conduct spell research for our guild.

Alas, such a day is far from now, and I still have much to learn. For now I am content to continue my training under Kssarh, and learn of new spells when he feels I am ready.
