Enchantments
This section is devoted to enchantments that I feel aren't note worthy or complex enough to warrant having their own page.
[Retune Cambrinth] | [Lunar Aura Device] | [Empowerment Enchantment]
The Retune Cambrinth enchantment is actually just a simple process of purging all traces of energy from a cambrinth item, thus returning it to a dormant state ready for charging by any time of energy.
Items needed to retune cambrinth:
* A cambrinth item
* 1 Enchanter's Burin
* A source for the sigil of the Phoenix (only visible the latter part of the
evening)
Steps to creating:
1. Study the sigil of the Phoenix, either from the constellation or a scroll, until you successfully memorize it.
2. Holding your enchanter's burin in your right hand and the cambrinth item in your left, SCRIBE <Cambrinth Item>. (Note: If the sigil doesn't sink in, go back to step #1)
That's it, you're done. The cambrinth item should now be ready to be charged with any type of energy.
Items needed to make a Lunar Aura Device:
* A mundane object, like a rock, leaf, arrow,
ring, gem, etc..
* 1 Enchanter's Burin
* A source for the sigil of the Shrike
* A source for the sigil of the Panther
* A spell that can activate sigils (Shadows, Dazzle or Unleash)
Steps to creating:
1. 'Spell up' with Seer's Sense, Clear Vision, Piercing Gaze and Aura Sight. This step is optional, but recommended.
2. Cast Imbue on the item you are going to use 2 times, making sure that it 'warps'. Once that is completed, you are ready to start scribing.
3. STUDY the Shrike constellation, or a scroll with the Shrike sigil on it, until you memorize the sigil. If you fail when studying the Shrike constellation, wait 3 minutes and try again. Scrolls are more forgiving and you may repeatedly try until you get it.
4. SCRIBE your item with the Shrike sigil like so, SCRIBE MY <ITEM>. Remember to have the burin in your right hand. Go back to step 3 if you fail to scribe.
5. Activate the sigil. This is done by casting either Shadows, Dazzle, or Unleash on the item. If you fail to activate the sigil before it fades away, you must go back to step 3.
6. Bind the sigil to the item. To do this, simply FOCUS MY <ITEM>. You will get a 12 second Round Time, and a little message telling you that you need to focus on the item again in order to permanently bind the sigil to the item. Keep FOCUSING on the item until you bind the sigil. If you fail to bind the Shrike's sigil before it fades, you must go back to step 3.
7. STUDY the Panther constellation, or a scroll with the Panther sigil on it, until you memorize the sigil. If you fail when studying the Panther constellation, wait 3 minutes and try again. Scrolls are more forgiving and you may repeatedly try until you get it.
8. SCRIBE your item with the Panther sigil like so, SCRIBE MY <ITEM>. Remember to have the burin in your right hand. Go back to step 3 if you fail to scribe.
8. Activate the sigil. This is done by casting either Shadows, Dazzle, or Unleash on the item. If you fail to activate the sigil before it fades away, you must go back to step 3.
10. Bind the sigil to the item. To do this, simply FOCUS MY <ITEM>. You will get a 12 second Round Time, and a little message telling you that you need to focus on the item again in order to permanently bind the sigil to the item. Keep FOCUSING on the item until you bind the sigil. If you fail to bind the Panther's sigil before it fades, you must go back to step 3.
That's it, you're done.
About the Lunar Aura Device:
So now that you've made a Lunar Aura Device, you're thinking
"What the heck is this thing anyway?"
A Lunar Aura Device is an interesting enchantment that mainly aids members of
the Thieve's Guild. Let me explain why. The Lunar Aura Device, when rubbed,
has the following effects on Thieves:
- Slight bonus that helps them in some way. I'm not sure if this is a bonus to their Krhi abilities, or if it is a boost to Stealing ranks or what. None the less, they are aided in some way.
- Acts like a Seer's Sense has been cast on them by a Moon Mage. When a Moon Mage casts Seer's Sense on a Thief it allows them to see the traps in the Throne City Museum.
- Bestows a magical aura upon them, so that when they are perceived, they seem to be a Moon Mage instead of a non magic user. This works in conjunction with their ability to 'wear' false pre-titles to help convince others that they are Moon Mages, not Thieves. This third function actually works for anyone, not just thieves. Though Thieves can make the most of this with their false pre-titles, and other Guilds really don't have a reason to pretend to be anything other than what they are.
To use a Lunar Aura Device, simply RUB MY <ITEM>. The aura will last around 15 minutes.
Items needed to 'empower' an item:
* A mundane object like a rock, leaf, arrow,
ring, gem, knife, etc..
* 1 Enchanter's Burin
* A source for the sigil of the Dolphin
* A spell that can activate sigils (Shadows, Dazzle or Unleash)
Steps to creating:
1. 'Spell up' with Seer's Sense, Clear Vision, Piercing Gaze and Aura Sight. This step is optional, but recommended.
2. Imbue the item you are going to empower. Remember, this takes at least two casts. You have to get the item to 'warp'. The amount of mana you have to use when casting Imbue may vary depending on what you are trying to imbue.
3. Next, quite simply, all you need to do is STUDY,
SCRIBE, activate and bind almost any sigil. Here
is the catch though, you can't use a sigil that is the 'base' sigil for another
enchantment. So the Wren, Owl, Phoenix, and Coyote are out if you plan on adding
more than one sigil, since they make Constellation Jewlery. If you are trying
to empower a pearl, then you can't use Katamba, or you will start a Devourer.
The same thing goes for the Panther and Mongoose (in that order) if you are
using a tear-shaped sapphire.
Note: You can keep repeating step 3 and add more sigils
for experience up until you make a trine.
Using the Empowerment enchantment:
Though
no GM has came out and officially said as much, the whole point of the empowerment
enchantment is to allow aspiring enchanters to practice and train their enchanting
skills. Think of it as a gift from Rigby so you don't have to actually try and
make the harder enchantments in order to practice enchanting.
As an added bonus, empowering something gives it several new verbs, they are:
Rub
- You rub
your hands together and touch your rock.
(Others see this) Eldrad rubs his
hands together and touches his rock.
Lick - You lick
your rock. It tastes tangy, with a slightly coppery flavor, but the main thing
you notice is how it numbs your tongue!
(Others see this) Eldrad licks his
rock, then withdraws in shock with a wild expression on his face!
Invoke - Your
hold your rock aloft and scream to the sky!
(Others see this) Eldrad holds his rock aloft
and screams at the sky!
Shake - You
shake your rock and scream like mad!
(Others see this) Eldrad shakes
his rock and screams like a madman!
Tap - You drum
your fingers along your rock.
(Others see this) Eldrad
drums his fingers along his rock.
