These are the current spells available in the Perception Book.
| Name | Rating | Minimum Mana |
Mana Cap |
| Clear Vision | 4 | 70 | |
This spell's power lies in its versatility. It
gives you a bonus to your Perception ranks. This can benefit
you in a great number of ways. From searching for thieves, to finding
traps on boxes, to enchanting; this spell is a must have for all Moon
Mages. I believe the maximum duration one can achieve is about 23
minutes. The spell can be 'refreshed' before the duration is up. |

| Piercing Gaze | 8 | 55 | |
Some things this spell will let you do are: Make
observations through cloud cover, look inside locked boxes, and supposedly
a few doors. It is also very helpful in enchanting... in the 'binding'
stage I believe. I suggest this spell for higher circle characters
who plan on enchanting a lot. It has a pretty good duration even at
minimum mana. The spell can be 'refreshed' before the duration is
up. |

| Distant Gaze | 6 | 60 | |
| This spell can be useful, and you need it for
some other spells. The aspect of aiding your Power Perception is also
a nice perk. However, If you don't find a great need to watch stuff
through your moonbeam, or you never seem to have problems with running
low on attunement, I wouldn't bother with this spell. Personally,
I use it all the time. Disant Gaze also teaches Primary
Magic very well by repeatedly casting it. Make sure to RELEASE
GAZE before you cast it again to ensure you actually learn.
People see a floating eye at the location of your moonbeam when you
cast this spell. The eye is the same color of your character's eye. |

| Locate | 10 | 50 | |
This spell lets you 'see' where a person is when
cast. It won't work if they are on a boat or ferry. If they are inside
a building or underground, it is harder (takes more mana), but is
still possible. You can also locate hidden people, but there is a
skill check to do so. You can also cast it without a target and sense
NPC characters, monsters, and animals within 2 rooms of your current
location. Everyone in the room with the target will feel like they
are being watched when you cast this spell. |

| Seer's Sense | 10 | 56 | |
| This spell gets 5 stars simply for being our
main defensive spell. Add in the fact that you can form 'links' with
people and utilize other spells on them, and you have one of the best
spells in our Guild. When self cast you get a bonus to your Evasion ranks. Duration on
the self cast evasion bonus depends on your skill, maxing out around
17-20 minutes I believe. Max duration on the link aspect is about
1 hour long I believe. It is also a common belief that this spell
aids in someway while enchanting. Unless you set around in town 24/7
and just talk to people, I suggest you get this spell. Heck, even
if you do sit in town all the time, you should still get this spell,
you never know when there will be an invasion. (Note: It may be my
imagination, but Seer's Sense also seems to help with Disarming Traps
and Picking Locks.) |

| Aura Sight | 6 | 60 | |
Aura Sight gives a boost to your Power Perception
skill, supposedly this boost is greater than the one that Distant
Gaze gives, but I don't think that is true until you have enough skill
to pump a lot of mana into Aura Sight. Using as much mana as I could
without backfiring, I couldn't notice a difference between it, and
Distant Gaze. At that much mana my duration was 6 minutes, kind of
short. Aura Sight also helps with enchanting and predictions... somehow.
As far as I know, no one knows exactly what it does for either one.
It's hard to rate Aura Sight off of my limited knowledge of it, but
I didn't find it impressive personally. This spell is for higher circle
Moon Mages in my opinion, at least 30th circle I would think. Otherwise
you won't be able to cast it with enough mana to really benefit all
that much from it. |
