Lunar Phases

New Moon: In this phase the moon is reflecting no sunlight to our eyes, and thus appears completely dark.
Waxing Crescent: In this phase about one quarter of the moon is reflecting sunlight to our eyes. This phase is half way between a New Moon and a First Quarter moon.
First Quarter: In this phase half of the moon is now reflecting sunlight to our eyes.
Waxing Gibbous: In this phase about three quarters of the moon is illuminated by the sun. This is half way between a First Quarter moon and Full Moon.
Full Moon: In this phase the moon is fully illuminated by the sunlight. Lunar mana is most prevelant during this phase. (Incidently, when Katamba is in this phase the Rakash people transform into dog or wolf like humanoids, they call this 'Moonskin')
Waning Gibbous: The first phase back into darkness. At this phase the moon is only three quarters illuminated.
Last Quarter: At this phase the moon now appears only half illuminated as it continues its journey back into darkness.
Waning Crescent: Half way between the Last Quarter and a New moon, this is the last phase before the moon re-enters the New Moon phase and is hidden in darkness once more.
