2005 Epiphany Auction PUTTING ON THE RITZ Silent Auction and Verbal Auction
RULES & PROCEDURES · When you arrive at the Auction, you will need to get a “Bid Number” or “Paddle Number” (we use the term interchangeably here). Only one Bid Number is needed for an individual, a couple, or a family. Bid Numbers are $5. You will receive a Bid Number which is the back page of your program. Use only the Bid Number assigned to you, please. · Values set forth for items being auctioned are the donor’s estimates and are not warranted by The Church of the Epiphany for tax purposes or for general value. · Each bid obligates the bidder to pay said price in full if his or her bid is the high bid on the Silent Auction form or at the fall of the Auctioneer’s gavel in the Verbal Auction. · All Sales Are Final; there will be no refunds. There will be no exchanges on items except where specified by the donor. · When you are ready to leave, please go to the Finance Room (across from the Parish Hall in the Office). Payment can be made by CASH, CHECK, or CREDIT CARD (MasterCard or Visa only). Payment in full on the evening of the Auction is mandatory. · After settling your account in the Finance Room, you can then proceed to the Pick Up Area (front lobby of our church). Your item will be brought to you in our Pick Up Area. You will need to present your receipt which will be initialed as PAID IN FULL. · Unless otherwise specified, all services must be used within the time period laid out on the certificate. Please read your service certificate carefully (conditions have been listed on the certificate) for restrictions. Dates and times for services or merchandise delivery must be mutually agreed upon by the buyer and the donor. Please contact the donor as early as possible to make arrangements (within 30 days of the Auction is recommended). While the Auction Committee does try to anticipate as many “What if’s?” as we can, if you feel you have an issue that needs to be resolved, contact the Parish Office at 272-4355. SILENT AUCTION RULES: · Each Silent Auction item has a bid sheet nearby. The number of the item will match that of the appropriate bid sheet. If you wish to bid, write your bidding number, name and dollar amount you wish to bid on the bid sheet. Please note the minimum raise per bid. · Please use only the bid number assigned to you. · The Silent Auction will open for bidding at 5:00 pm and close at 7:00 pm. Announcements will be made to signal the official closing of the Silent Auction. · The winner of each item will be announcement from 7:00 – 7:30 pm. · The Closing Bid circled by an Auction Official constitutes the winning bid. In the event of a dispute, the Auction Official will act as the final authority and determine the winning bid.
VERBAL AUCTION RULES: · Each item will be brought up to the stage where our auctioneer will start the bidding with the “Start Bid” listed in the program. · Raise your paddle number (back page of your program) to bid. The auctioneer will announce your number and the amount and continue up another increment until no one else bids. · At this point, our auctioneer will drop his gavel and announce the winner. · When you win an item by making the highest bid for the Verbal Auction, a runner will bring a RECEIPT CARD to you. |
