Interactive Fiction

The world of the imagination is one that will never be infringed upon by movies or video games, they lack the scope and depth that even the most shallow mind can reach. Text however allows room for the mind to fill in the gaps and it is here in the great works of fiction that we find the bridge to the imaginative. Interactive Fiction is the medium by which we may touch that world and perhaps, if the game is truly good, even bring something back.

TADS
If you don't already have TADS then you'll need it to play the games you find here. You can get it by going to the TADS page and downloading it. Incidentaly if you haven't a clue what Interactive Fiction is and this page has done little more than confuse you thus far then going to the Tads page will explain things.

An excellent place to get your IF related questions answered are on the appropriate newsgroups:

ifMUD
After you've read through r.*.i.f for a while try loging into ifMUD and checking out the people there. The atmosphere's a bit different but you'll probably recognise a few people. If you've never been there before spend a minute reading the FAQ before you go.
