Check out our Awesome Adventure!

The summer of 2006 our  family had an awesome adventure!  We made a  9,640 mile road trip!  Armed with a pickup truck and a small travel trailer, we made our way across the western side of the United States.  From the mountains, to the prairie, to the Oceans, to the desert.    Come join us on our adventures as we make our way from Denham Springs Louisiana  across this beautiful country we call home.

Day by day account of our trip

Week 1

The first week brought us from Louisiana to Colorado.  On the way we visited family, drove to the top of Pikes Peak, saw a yellowed bellied marmot and found out what "golf ball sized hail" can do to your truck.

 Week 2

We started the second week in The Rocky Mountain National Park and ended it at The Devils Tower National Park.  On the way, we visited Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse in South Dakota.

Week 3

From The Devils Tower, we made our way over to Yellowstone National Park.  There is no place on earth like Yellowstone!

 Week4

From the beautiful Whidbey Island in Washington to the tide pools on the Oregon Coast, we had a blast.  But we can't forget about Mount St Helens.

Week 5

This week took us from the Oregon caves down  to the mind boggling  Giant Sequoias at Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Monument in California.  Add in a little Yosemite National Park and  we have a week to remember.

 Week 6

We started the week amist the awesome Sequoia trees and ended it at the mesmerizing Grand Canyon.  But we can't forget about the four days in Los Vegas.

Week 7

The Navajo Nation, ancient ruins, volcanoes, and aliens, what a mix, what a week.

 Week8

This last week of out trip brought us from Carlsbad Caverns  back to out home in Louisiana.  But not before we made on last stop at the beach.

Oh give me a home.......

Strange Picture:

Ok, here's the deal.  While we were in California, we made a drive through a Mountain Pass on hwy 299 from Arcata to Redding.  When we got to the top of the mountain, there was a spot to pull over, so we stopped for a few minutes.  While we were there, I snapped a couple of pictures.  A couple of days latter, when I uploaded the pictures, I noticed that there was a strange blur on one of the pictures. It is not on any of the other pictures.  I have enlarged the picture to try to see what it could be.  Take a look at the picture and see if it looks like anything in particular to you.  I would love to hear your thoughts about what you may think this "blur" may be.  Click here to see the picture.
