If you need advice on issues not covered in the FAQs
below, please use the feedback
form to submit your query to Corporate Marketing.
Q. Can the tag line be moved if the logo doesn't
fit in a given space?
A. No. All the elements are fixed and should never be
modified in any way.
Q. Should the tag line always be used with the logo?
A. The tag line should be used in all customer-related
materials. However, in cases where the tag line will
not reproduce well and brand identity will be compromised
(e.g. when embroidered on T-shirts), it may be eliminated.
Q. Where can I access authorized logos?
A. The SkillSoft logo is available in various sizes
for onscreen and print use.
Q. Is it OK to reverse the logo out of backgrounds
that are not part of the corporate color range?
A. The logo can be reversed out of the new corporate
red, blue, green, and orange colors. However, it should
never be reversed out of the new corporate silver, to
avoid diminished legibility. Reversing the logos out
of any other colored backgrounds is prohibited.
Q. What is the CMYK breakdown for the new corporate
red?
A. The corporate red should always be reproduced in
Pantone 188. To prevent color variation, no CMYK conversion
is acceptable. When printing in CMYK, an extra spot
color overprint (PMS 188) should be used.
Q. Are there any restrictions on animating the logo?
A. The logo should never be rotated, distorted, disfigured,
or embellished in any way. It should never be used on
its side, broken down into individual components, or
mirrored. Any treatment that affects the legibility
of the SkillSoft name or tag line is prohibited.
Q. Can the logo be viewed at different angles?
A. The logo should always be perfectly visible and clearly
legible. It should never be viewed at an angle or from
any position that distorts its appearance.
Q. Can the logo be used in 3-D scenes?
A. The logo should never be rendered in 3-D form. If
using a 2-D logo in multimedia scenes, it's vital that
logo clarity be maintained.
Q. Are there any stipulations regarding embossing/debossing
the logo?
A. The logo can be embossed or debossed, as long as
the optimal size restrictions are adhered to and legibility
of the SkillSoft name or tag line is not impaired.
Q. What about instances where the logo has traditionally
been embroidered (e.g. on T-shirts) or woven (e.g. on
welcome rugs)? Is this still OK?
A. This depends on the quality of the workmanship and
neatness in application. Many such reproductions will
be acceptable, but, due to the risk of inaccurate portrayal
in both media, all embroidery and weave treatments must
be approved by Corporate Marketing.
