Welcome to my homepage. I am a mathematics instructor at Mustang High School in Mustang, Oklahoma. In December 1998 I received my Master of Education in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum with emphasis in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. This webpage has been designed to be helpful to my students, fellow graduate students, and colleagues in our common pursuit of mathematics education.
At Mustang High School, I teach Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. The algebra and trigonometry webpages are currently under construction. Watch them as they develop and give me some feedback. I would like them to be helpful to students.
One of my favorite activities is talking
to teachers about teaching mathematics. I spoke at NCTM 2000 Chicago, Session #
94: "M & M"s and Dog Food: Hands-On Algebra for
Fun and Understanding. This link will take you to my hand out.
Below, you will find a link to other lesson plans I've created for use in
mathematics classes. Enjoy.
During the 1998-1999 school year, I also
served the University of Oklahoma as a Master Teacher in Residence through
O-TEC, the Oklahoma Teacher Education Collaborative, one of several
collaboratives across the nation made possible with funding by the National Science Foundation. My position
as an MTIR at OU allowed me to share my experience as a secondary classroom
teacher with mathematics and science teacher education candidates at OU and
also with teachers in the public schools in this area.
