Around The World

We looked at a map of the world and found the USA and located countries next to ours. We also found Switzerland and its surrounding countries and talked about the different languages and customs in those countries too. We listened to the “Heidi” story about a girl who lived in Switzerland and we learned a game Called "Don't look back, the fox walks around !" -a game kids in Switzerland play...its like duck, duck, goose! We represented Switzerland in the international fair and we visited the other countries there and learned a few things about them. We put together a "Troop Recipe Book." with family recipes. Each girl will share information about her recipe. Where is it from? Who gave it to her? How do you make it?

Wave the Flag

We decided to donate cookies to our heroes overseas as a community service project with our cookie profits. Some friends and family also donated cookies and other items we will ship to a soldier to hand out. We drew pictures and made cards to include in our care package along with our “Pocket Patriots”. We learned Rules of etiquette on using a flag and some fun Flag Facts. We also Learned how to properly fold a flag and the basic flag ceremony techniques.

We went out for a walk and chose some interesting leaves to use as we made rubbings to decorate our mothers day gardens. We planted A flower, vegetable and herb and will have a seed race to see which kind of plants grow the fastest and tallest. This is a project we will work on with our Moms. We also took a “Baby bean” and added water and sun  in a clear plastic bag to see how it grown beneath the soil.
