Daisy Girl Scouts of Exeter/West Greenwich, Rhode Island

Look at us as Daisy Girl Scouts 11/06

We learned the girl scout Promise and made up a new way to remember it.

We learned that each petal will represent each part of the Girl Scout Law.

The girls decorated the cover of their Girl Scout Binders where we will keep all their activities.

We talked about being honest and how important it is to tell the truth no matter what.

We read 3 stories about being Honest & Fair. We made bracelets and had to be fair choosing beads. We also played Hullabaloo and had to be fair standing on the mats and Honest about who was on which matt when the game ended. We pinned the girls that missed last meeting.

The girls have a Kaper chart—which will tell them which activity they will be “Helping” with at each meeting. We talked about what it means to be Friendly and Helpful.

Once each girl has “helped” in each area they will earn the petal.

All those who have not missed a meeting  so far have earned this petal...

We talked about what it means to be Considerate & Caring and we learned that some people don’t have any family to care for them. So to be considerate of our elders, we made and decorated Snow Flake Catchers that read “A Daisy Girl Scout is Thinking of You”  and we gave them to residents of a local nursing home to let them know we are care and are thinking of them.

We talked about growing up and being strong. We asked each girl if there was something she was afraid of that she would like to learn how to do someday. We discussed being courageous about trying new things. The girls decorated their very own tape measure and we marked their height on it with the date so they can see if they have GROWN by the end of the year. The also colored a picture of themselves all grown up being courageous & Strong.

Participating in the international Fair Presentation will be Courageous & Strong!

We are working on our Bridging requirements. We need to fulfill some requirements from a Brownie Try-It. We will be earning: Girl Scout Ways. This will also help us learn about becoming Brownies… Some of us earned this Try-it  during our Bridging requirements! We learned all about what kind of things Brownies can do from our sister  troop 282. We also tried out some fun “Special” things Brownies do… We learned the Brownie Smile Song and How to make S’mores too! We also practiced our friendship circle & Handshake! Troop 282, will be telling us all about what they have done as Brownies and we will be planning and making decorations for our bridging ceremony….
