Haiti Water Project Completed

Good planning, generous donors and quick action have resulted in plentiful water for sixty-six orphaned Haitian children, the staff and families who look after them and the community in which they are housed.  "It must have been meant to be," stated OFI Vice-President Pat Winkley.  "The At Risk Children's Foundation first contacted OFI in March of this year, seeking urgent support to build a water cistern to catch and hold water for the orphanage and the surrounding community.  The urgency was due to the fact that the rainy season begins in late April of each year and ends in mid-August." 13th Annual Senior Prom Draws Record Crowd!

Almost thirteen years ago, OFI's founder Pat Winkley conceived a Senior Prom for seniors and people with disabilities living in residential centers in the Austin, Texas area.  Winkley had been volunteering in a nursing home and was concerned about the quality of life for the residents.  Many had been virtually abandoned by their families and all had little by way of outside recreation, nothing to look forward to and dress up for.  (story continues)
