We relocated from Los Angeles to San Diego last year to have our son attend The Academy of Exploration International. | To Whom It May Concern: Our son attends The Academy of Exploration International. He began attending the Academy during his second grade and he is now in 7th grade. His previous schools labeled him with learning disabilities. Tina Burgess accepted him into her Academy and that's when he began receiving an excellent education. Tina Burgess gave our son one on one instruction. She made an assessment of his academic abilities, personality and developed a plan of instruction tailored for him. Tina's understanding of how children learn and awareness of different types of learners allowed our son to excel. The previous school suggested medication as a means of assisting our son to focus in the classroom. We were blessed with the best solution. The Academy of Exploration and Tina Burgess. The one and one-half years that he was in your school made a great difference in his academics and self-esteem. When talking to my son about your school setting, he mentions many times that he enjoyed your school and teaching methods. He also talks about how much he liked the one-on-one attention you gave him and the other students. As a father, I can also see a big difference in my son’s demeanor when it comes to his attitude towards school. He enjoyed going to the Academy and was looking forward to his daily studies and socialization with the other students and animals. My son enjoyed the piano lessons and discovered that he had a talent for it. | To Whom It May Concern: My son has been enrolled in the Academy of Exploration International, owned and operated by Tina Burgess, for the past 5 years. When my son entered the Academy, he was struggling in his old school and tended to have to focus more on behavior issues than academics. Today, 5 years later, my son has grown into an incredible and wonderful young man thanks to his experience of working with Mrs. Burgess. My son is successful in his studies, developed a strong moral character, and is an example of a teenager that is admired by many people that come in contact with him. His life might have turned out very different had it not been for his attendance at the Academy of Exploration International. In addition, my daughter began attending the school during her first grade and is now in her 4th year there. She is highly intelligent and bright and the Academy provides her with both the mental stimulation and support that will enable her to follow a path of success and social contributions. Even though my business required our family to move to different states during the past years, I did not want my children to go to any other school or have any other teacher. My children continue to attend the Academy on a daily basis via phone, Internet, MSN, webcam, and fax. Both of my children are an integral part of the school and socialize, despite the distance, with the other students. Whenever the opportunity arises, I try to give my children the opportunity to see their teacher in person and to visit the other students, animals, and quiet but stimulating atmosphere this school provides. The relocation of this school to 2890 Proctor Valley Court in Jamul would even enhance my children’s life and we are looking forward to its expansion. I am hoping that with its relocation and expansion that my now 4 year old son will also be able to attend the Academy of Exploration International and that all of my children will be able to continue and complete their studies there.
