from the PTA President
Hello and welcome back students, staff, and parents! I hope you will
enjoy our first issue of the PTA Dragon Digest. Last year the PTA
board focused on increasing communication with the staff and parents
of Fairfax Villa Elementary. This school year we have taken one more
giant step in providing information, by starting our own PTA
newsletter. We hope this newsletter will inform everyone in the
Fairfax Villa Elementary community about what we have accomplished,
what is in our future and who has helped along the way.

What Has the PTA Done Lately??
• New Smartboard! In August the PTA purchased a Smartboard for
Fairfax Villa to use in the Music classroom. This was in support of
the school’s goal to equip every classroom despite severe budget
cuts this year. This gift will be a benefit for every child!
• Back-to-School Breakfast for Teachers! Thanks to all the parents
who baked and volunteered to help make this annual tradition a
success. We wish our teachers all the best in the new school year!
• Schoolkidz School Supply Kits! Supply kits were delivered at the
open house. Thanks to all those folks who ordered school supplies
through the PTA this year.

We Need Volunteers for the Following
PTA Committees this Fall:
Merchandise – ordering and selling school t-shirts,
sweatshirts, water bottles, and anything else you want!
Fall
Event – Friday, October 24 7:00-9:00 pm
It’s a
fall party for the whole school! Dance, costumes, games, contests,
food, etc. A small army of volunteers makes this a great memory for
everyone. Without a chairperson, this event can not take place.
Original Artworks – Fundraiser to put students’ artwork on
everyday products like magnets, notecards, or t-shirts. Coordinate
schedule, place orders, and distribute products.
Movie
Nights- Family movie shown at the school with free popcorn and
water. Help select movie and pass out snacks.
