Making the Commitment to Hire a Coach
Coaching requires that the Family or Individual makes a commitment of time, effort, and finances. Coaching is not a process for someone who expects someone else to “make them better”. You will get out of the coaching experience what you are willing to put into it.
Finding the Right Coach
It is very important that you do your homework. Each coach has unique talents and experiences. It is important that you find a coach who can help you achieve the goals that are important to you. Many coaches offer free introductory sessions which will help you get to know the coach before making a commitment to utilize their services.
Your Vision of Success
One of the first discussions you will have with your new coach is, What is your Vision of Success for the coaching experience? What do you want to accomplish and how will you determine that the coaching experience was successful for you?
Identifying Issues and Barriers
The next step will be determining what barriers exist in your life that are preventing you from achieving your goals and realizing your Vision. Your coach will ask you questions like: What would you do if you were not afraid?
Developing an Action Plan
The next step is for you to develop an action plan with the guidance of your coach. You will identify specific actions that you will take on a daily basis in order to accomplish your goals and ultimately realize your Vision.
Realizing Your Vision
Only if you understand who you are now, and allow yourself to change, can you become who you really want to be. Your coach will help you with this by teaching you self-accountability and by guiding you in following through with the life plan that you have created for yourself. |
