Epilogue

Eventually, after living alone, Caleb invites Jeremy and his family to move into the villa with him, (rather than have them stay in the servants' cottage on the grounds of the estate). Caleb then succeeds in hunting down and killing the two Koviches who killed Colin and Katarina (they are Rafe's great-great grandfather and uncle). He also meets and falls desperately in love with Olivia. You know this part!

After Olivia's untimely death, Caleb is consumed with so much anger and guilt, that his alter ego, and "brother" Michael, re-surfaces, and this time he's not in a dream. He wants to take control of the situation, but Caleb's personality is still dominant. The two "brothers" fight for control over the next 100 years or so, each winning and losing several times over the decades. The guy is totally messed up! Jeremy's family endures his schizophrenia and they protect him from the outside world as much as possible, over the years. Jeremy has a son, John, who, in turn, has a son, Jason, who in turn, has a son James, who we all know and love?!

Finally, around the year 2000, Michael has surfaced enough and won enough battles with Caleb so that he gains complete control. He "protects" his "brother" by forcing Caleb's personality to recede into the background, and quickly decides that a return trip to the monastery of his youth, near Port Charles, New York, is in order. He arrives in April, 2001, and is deeply disturbed to find the monastery is now abandoned and in the throes of decay - and recognizes this as a physical manifestation of the decay of his own soul! Of course, he must re-build it, become a priest, and atone for the many sins committed by Caleb. He soon meets this lovely lady named Eve one day, and, well…you know the rest of this part, too!
