Kathy Edwards Kathy Edwards is both the artist and webmaster of this page.

While a student of Edinboro University, in Edinboro, PA, she was introduced to clay. It brought back the childhood joy of playing in the mud and combined it with the peace of meditation and the making of something both beautiful and utilitarian.

But clay had to be forgotten when she graduated. Working and raising children soon took up all the spare time. Artistic abilities were used to enrich Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Sunday School teaching.

When the family moved to Roanoke Va in 1991, she fell in love with the mountains, people, and lovely weather.

Cataracts clouded both eyes since childhood, but soon became so bad she couldn't drive, work or read. Time for surgery!

Michael, her son, suggested she learn something new to pass the time between surgeries. Learn HTML and how to create web pages. It was fun too - another outlet for creativity.

At a pottery show for the Blue Ridge Potters, Kathy heard about the Brambleton Center, where for a small fee, she could use the wheels, tools, kilns and glazes they provided. JOY!

Handles became branches of cherry blossoms and plates became a canvas for pictures. Then a castle was suggested and the imagination took hold. Soon goblets became trees and boxes turtles. The trees grew dormers and tiny doors, windows with shutters and even little gardens.

A flood of childhood stories were there to be created. Peter Rabbit, The Secret Garden, and Wind in the Willows all became their own Goblets illustrating her favorite scene in the story. Castles for Briar Rose and Rapunzel were created, along with Witches huts and hobbit huts. To see a gallery of past work click here. Now web page design and pottery have a happy marriage in a place for her to share her creations with the rest of the world. She has been told again and again that she doesn't charge enough, but the idea isn't to get rich, just to make enough money to pay for expenses and keep the inventory down so the house doesn't get cluttered, and find a good home for her creations.
