"Kicked In The Taco"
SUBJECT: "universal violence" - Frank in the press kit for the album.
Was "Kicked in the Taco" inspired by an actual event ?(ouch)
well, it's inspired by a a Crispin Glover/Howard Hesseman movie called "Reuben
and Ed". Actually, just the phrase "kicked in the taco" comes from that. The
song is connected to A book called Green Mars. Actuallly, it's Red Mars.
- Frank in an online chat, 96
Kim Stanley Robinson wrote a trilogy of science-fiction "Mars" books: Red Mars, Green Mars, and Blue Mars. The books deal with humans settling Mars in a process called "terraforming." (see "Big Red")
LYRICS:
Today at the New Morocco / I got kicked in the taco / All I saw were stars /
Say, it's a bit nightmarish / From here to Albondigas Parish / Underneath the
stars / Hey, I got kicked in the taco / There's a brewing sirocco / On the planet
of Mars / And from me, you got my message of love / You got my message / You
got my message of love
NOTES ON LYRICS:
You got my message of love
"Of course, the message is a kick in the balls."
