"The Marsist"
SUBJECT: "geographic obsession" - Frank in the press kit for the album.

More than twenty years ago, NASA released photos of the Cydonia Region of Mars. One of the ground formations looked like a rectangular face, and caused a stir of controversy, the flames of which were fanned by conspiracy nuts such as Richard Hoagland (who also claims to have found ancient structures on the moon, and eroding machinery at the Mars Pathfinder landing site).
This song is supposedly about Richard Hoagland, author of the 1987 "Monuments of Mars" book that really started the "face of Mars" craze.
But maybe the song is about Frank himself...
USING ONLY ONE WORD, DESCRIBE YOURSELF.
"A Marsist."

LYRICS:
Take me somewhere cool / Take a long time / Take as long at it takes / Take
me somewhere cool / I want to tough that face / I have seen that face / I have
seen that vacant look / Oh, it's silly I know / Am I a fool / I'm not smart
as a rat / I'm much smarter than that / I am a fool who wants to kiss your beautiful
face / I have seen your face / I have seen that look you gave me / Oh, it's
silly I know / Face / I have seen the face / I have seen the eyes / And the
brilliant ego / Face / I have seen the face / I have waited my whole life /
And I really want to go
