"Whatever Happened To Pong?"

SUBJECT: "Pong" is widely recognized as the first video game to really catch on. It was very simple: you'd just move a stick and hit a ball back and forth, trying not to let it get past you. This was back in the early 70's. Technological advancements obviously allowed for new, more sophisticated video games (such as "Donkey Kong"), so Pong evenutally disappeared from view.

H.G. Wells was an author who, in 1895, wrote a book called The Time Machine. He is considered by many to be the father of modern science fiction.

LYRICS:
My brother and me used to play it down at a bar / Taking money from guys more used to playing the cards / Paddle the paddle to side to the side / To the side to the side to the paddle the paddle / Paddle the paddle to side to the side / Pong / Ball in the machine / Now virtually everyone's singing a popular song / But still I belive in the excellent joy of the pong / Now if they take it H. G. Wells / Well I'll be on the first flight / To a time before a Kong / Whatever happened to Pong?
