Our 2007 U. S. Navy reunion was held in Albany, N.Y. Ronald Wronowicz and his wife Francine were our hosts. They did a fabulous job booking the Crown Plaza Hotel. They arranged great tours around Albany to give us a taste of the city. Danny and Kathy Fletcher and Dennis and Ellen Beck worked hard to make sure the hospitality room was always well stocked and ready for good times. Dennis provided us with music and once again brought back "Elvis" to entertain at our dinner show. This year he introduced a new opening act, The Soggy Mountain Boys. What a show!
Albany is a beautiful city. Our tour of the U.S.S. Slater, which is tied up on the Hudson River, was wonderful. We were given free rein to go anywhere on the ship. We could show our wives how we lived at sea and it brought back many, many memories.
It was great to see all the first-time attendees and others we had not seen for some years. We hope everyone decides to return in 2009.
Our group voted to hold the 2009 reunion in Charleston, S.C. Frank, "Droopy", Mylar and his wife will be our hosts in Charleston. Start planning now for a great reunion. The historical city of Charleston will be a fascinating city to tour.
We will keep you up to speed with reunion information through newsletters and on this website.
