Photos of a first cycle male Eurasian Wigeon undergoing pre-formative molt. Photos taken February 5, 2004 at the Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale. The bird is mostly in formative plumage but has retained juvenile wing coverts (brown area between gray scapulars and gray flanks. There are also a few unmolted juvenile flank feathers clearly visible especially in the lower image.
