Painting Directions:
Blue Wash-Delta Copen blue
Dark Blue-Delta Blueberry
Medium Red-Americana Country Red
Dark Red-American Alizarin Crimson
Light Gray-White/Black mixed
Dark Gray-Light gray/Black mixed
Medium Green-Delta Seminole Green
Dark Green-Delta Dark Forest Green
Yellow-Americana Cadmium Yellow
Apply pattern with dark tracing paper to the raw wood.
Your pattern should show thru the wash.
With a wash (5 parts water-1 part paint) apply to both sides and edges.
Let it dry.
Basecoat the dolphins with a light gray. Shade with a dark gray over the
head and along the body to
separate the two, also shade the eye socket and around the flippers.
Float white down the belly of both dolphins. Paint the tongue on the top
dolphin pink.
Base the flowers and bud with medium red and shade the sections in with
a darker red. Apply the stamens with
Yellow, pointing one to the right and up and the other to the left and
down. Put lots of tiny dots at the end of each stamen.
Base the leaves with medium green and shade with dark green.
Base the brush handle light gray, shade with dark gray. Base the ferrule
with dark gray. Base the brush bristles tan and the same red as the flowers
on the tip.
Shade the bottom of the fan with dark blue. Paint the edge all around
with medium or dark blue.
Outline the design with a black fine line pen or brush.
Add Fiesta City Decorative Painters and your Name.
When dry finish with clear varnish or spray.
Glue the pin to the back and wear it to every meeting to avoid being fined.
