Overall Description:
Pensacola in the Word of Darkness is not geographically different from its
mundane incarnation. Its population density has increased fourfold;
totaling 1.2 Million residents in Escambia County. Its pulse lies in
religion, and in those roots lie the heart of the residents. Pensacola
holds a world’s record for most churches per square block; and that is no
different in the World of Darkness. Its streets are more crowded; its
streetlights more yellowed and the shady dealings more commonplace. It is
what most larger cities are today; corrupt to the core, and jealous of
anything that can clean it up.
The City of Pensacola is broken into five parts, Northside, Eastside,
Westside, Southside, and Central.
Ft Walton, Crestview, Navarre, and Destin shall follow the Eastside
template; with immediate coastal regions following the Southside template.
Gulf Breeze proper (to the Pensacola Beach Bridge); and Pensacola Beach
shall follow the Southside Template. The area between Gulf Breeze proper
and Navarre shall follow the Eastside Template.
Milton, Cantonment, and Holly will follow the Northside template. At ST
discretion, specific smaller regions may follow the Westside Template.
History Changes:
Pensacola’s History remains largely unchanged until this century. In
the early 1900’s, when the railroads pounded through the area, and the
logging mills were disappearing; the Navy decided NOT to place their naval
aviation training bases here, thereby changing the history of Pensacola
forever.
Changes from Reality:
- The current site of
NAS: Pensacola is in two parts. The antique buildings are preserved
as part of a Historical Community. There are tours and private
leasing available. The other part is anything that is currently part
of the Naval Base. This area is all part of a Corporation called TCS
(Trans-Continental Shipping) [link],
which deals in the subleasing of global commodities exchange stationing
and equipment.
- The current site of
Corry Station is a Westside campus for UWF, or its World of Darkness
equivalent.
- The current site of
Saufley Field (former NAS area) is a Florida State Penitentiary.
- The current site of
Eglin AFB is an International Airport; which has direct land and rail
connections to TCS.
- The Docks downtown
have been privatized, and are home to 100% civilian/non-commercial
traffic. It is well policed, both in and out of the water.
Police stations are
scattered throughout the five quadrants; with primary facilities (jails)
located at the following locations:
- Leonard and P St
(Main County Jail)
- 8th
Street and Cervantes (Main City Jail)
- Nine Mile and Scenic
(Small Holding Facility)
- Gulf Beach Hwy and
Sorrento Blvd (Small Holding Facility)
- Old Corry and
Lillian Hwy (Small Holding Facility)
