Flotilla 4-10 Bulletin Board June Meeting Information With the opening of the old Mandarin Restaurant, the name has been changed to the Shanghai Place on the corner of Donmoor and Florida Blvd. Reports of those who have eaten there have been good. With the use of the restaurant in the past, this will bring back memories as we revisit it for the Flotilla meeting.
As special guest, we will
be receiving Jim Liverette, DVCP, and Dave Buras, SO-OP. There
experience and value to the Division and to us is invaluable. Dave will
be sharing about the changes in the surface operations area and Jim will
bring us news from Bill Pritchard, DCP, and the Division's vision.
Please make every possible
effort to join us. In addition, you have the ear of every staff
officer. If there is any item to relay to the staff officer meeting,
give any officer a call or email to bring the item to the table. Thank
you for your involvement, at whatever level you can participate.
February Meeting Information
Every third Thursday comes
often for your Staff Officers. With the array of activities that they
have planned, they delight to bring you up to date each Flotilla
meeting. This meeting, 15 Feb 07, this Thursday, will be extra special
in that the Hurricane Katrina pins (Presidential Unit Citation) will be
given out.
This pin has been long
anticipated by those in the Auxiliary. The coloration and pin have been
especially created for all of CG personnel who were in service prior to
29 Aug 05. This would be the same for CG Auxiliarists making them
eligible to receive and wear this also.
Please make every attempt
to meet with us for fine food and fellowship and the meeting at the Fire
Mountain Restaurant (corner of Coursey and Sherwood Forest Blvd) at 1900
hours.
Special guests will be
there as they are transferring in from Alabama, New Jersey and
Alexandria.
Special, fun and interesting call to serve The Special, Fun, and Interesting is a call to attend and staff the booth at the Sportsman Expo in Gonzales at Lamar-Dixon Center. We have done this in the past with great interaction and safety recommendations to the recreational boater. The new year is underway; the Division meeting was last week and much communication is coming down the line from National. I would think this description could be spoken every January. Flotilla 4-10’s Report to Division 4 - 2007 I trust that you had been able to look at the 2007 Outdoors Calendar of The Advocate Sports Section on the last page where Joe Macaluso’s articles are found. We made the deadline and the ABC course and GPS course were listed. Although much more was submitted and not published, we will get it in as needed prior to the events. This way Flotilla 4-10’s name and our Auxiliarist’s name will be in the paper a number of ways. Year End Flotilla Commander Comments - 2006 Well, the Nov meeting, the Div Change of Watch, and the Flotilla Change of Watch are done. Cleve and Ken have been sworn in as our 2007 officers. I have enjoyed being your FC for the last two years but am glad I can move on to something else now. 2007 was a good year, not record breaker, but a solid year of work in our mission to aid the Coast Guard in its public boating safety missions. The Division 4 Change Of Watch - 2006 The Div Change Of Watch was held December 2, 2006 at the Holiday Inn at Covington. The facilities were nice and the food was actually pretty good. If you haven't been to one of these before you should consider attending next year. It makes for a nice social evening with your Aux friends.
