The Olson Family Tree
Who am I? Who are you? Although most of us do not define ourselves by our relatives and ancestors, it is difficult to ignore their influence on our lives. A couple of years ago, I became curious about my ancestors. With the help of the local Church of Latter-day Saints, I have been able to trace my family history back to my great-great-great-great-great grandfather. Now I need to work back down and trace all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and so on.Arfvid Bengtsson
So far, I have managed to trace the Olson family back to Arfvid Bengtsson. He was born in 1682 and died in 1754 in the Swedish town of Kolerud. In that time, he married Britta Olofsdotter and they had three children: Lars, Olof and Bengt. (If I'm Olson, why is this fellow's name Bengtsson? Andrew Olif Olson
Born Anders Olof Olofson on October 12, 1842 in Södra Råda, Värmland, Sweden, Andrew (pictured, left) was the great great grandson of Arfvid Bengtson. In 1870, he left Sweden and moved to the United States where his name was Americanized into Andrew Olif Olson.
