You also benefit from our
"Meet Me at Home" program.

Members arriving home at night may call the patrol on their way home and arrange for a police officer to meet them when they arrive.

This ensures your peace of mind while unloading packages, carrying groceries, or simply walking from your car to your door after dark.

Security

Fontainebleau is one of the most crime free neighborhoods in New Orleans. That is due in part to the Fontainebleau Security Patrol, which arranges for off-duty police officers to patrol our neighborhood. We are fortunate to have several dedicated off-duty NOPD officers in the patrol who know our neighborhood well.

Participation in the security patrol is separate from membership in the FIA. Security patrol membership is $24 per month or $144 twice a year. Members receive:

  • a sign for their yard

  • small signs for their windows

  • the direct cell phone number of the police officer on duty

  • a bulletin every three to four weeks that includes patrol information and a neighborhood activity report.

We need your help. The more members we have, the more security services we can provide. To join, please return this membership form (pdf) or contact:

NOPD Announces New Web Site

From the new NOPD website you can make online incident reports (reports of crimes that are that are less serious in nature and with no known suspects; for anything that requires an immediate police response, dial 911 ), report a problem directly to your local police district, review crime maps, pay parking tickets online, pay traffic tickets online, find brake tag stations, and more. It even offers an online tutorial on fire and burglar alarm systems.

It is crucial that all crime -- even petty crime, vandalism to a residence or property, suspicious persons, or evidence of trespassing -- be reported to the police at 821-2222 as soon as it occurs or as soon as you become aware of it. The police will be more apt to pay attention to us if we keep them well-informed as to what is happening in our neighborhood.

The police will not accept a report from anyone other than the victim of the crime. Do not hesitate to call the Second District (896-4700) if our patrol officer is not on duty.
