About Us The Fontenelle Nature Association Photographers Club focuses on nature photography. The club presents monthly photo programs for the beginner to the professional. Various activities of the club include teaching programs to improve photography skill, field trips to various photographic sites and longer photo expeditions. If you have a love of nature and are interested in photography, then Fontenelle Nature Association Photographers Club is for you. The group includes all skill levels, from the beginning ‘point and shoot’ hobbyist to the published professional. Together our diverse membership group possesses a tremendous knowledge of camera equipment, photographic techniques, darkroom techniques, flower and bird identification, animal behavior and photographic locations, both near and far, for capturing some of the best nature shots possible. But nature isn’t the only thing we do. We have members who have specific interests in black and white, travel, underwater, sports, and commercial photography as well. Our meeting programs occasionally focus on these seemingly unrelated areas of photography because knowing how to anticipate action (sports), travel light (travel photography), work in dark places (underwater), recognize harmonious patterns (commercial), or appreciate textures (black and white) can make you a better nature photographer. Our meetings are held every third Thursday of the month throughout the year. The meeting consists of a formal program, conveying some insights on photographic techniques, equipment or animal behavior. The meeting concludes with refreshments and time to socialize with other members about their most recent work. Our meetings are relaxed and informative. There is also plenty of time to exchange ideas, share a laugh or talk over problems with the other members. We meet at 7:00 pm at the Fontenelle Nature Association in Bellevue, Nebraska. In addition to monthly meetings we also host photographic field trips around the area on a monthly basis and at least one long distance photographic field trip a year. We hold occasional workshops, enjoy a yearly picnic, semi-annual potlucks and a holiday party. We also issue a quarterly newsletter, “The Snapshot”, to keep members informed of upcoming events. Through the efforts of the club leadership, members of the Fontenelle Nature Association Photographers Club enjoy the opportunity of displaying and/or selling their work at various locations and events around town. For those interested in this opportunity it gives them the added benefit of getting feedback on their work from a larger audience of people. Membership runs from September through August at a cost of $12.00 per individual or $20.00 per family. New members joining after February pay only half the full year dues. Any member of the Fontenelle Nature Association Photographers Club is required to also hold a current membership in Fontenelle Nature Association.
