"THE TOAD MASTER"
<><><>
There's a angler that I know,
and his name is Peter Paul,
If he had no bad luck,
he'd have no luck at all!
<><><>
Sometime joins me when I go
out to the fishing grounds,
and this is how my story goes
an epic so profound.
<><><>
"Pete" loves the water, boat, and fish,
what life is all about,
but seldom does he get his wish...
his fortune all ran out!
<><><>
But not his money that is gone,
his luck that took a dive,
it's the dreaded "ToadFish" curse
that's on his back to ride.
<><><>
This curse, just wont let him be,
a dark cloud over Paul;
it's true it doesn't bother me,
no answers come at all.
<><><>
It's a real dirty, crying shame
to spoil an anglers love,
The "ToadFish Curse" is all to blame
that dwells down in the mud.
<><><>
It seems to happen every time
he hooks a heavy load,
instead of "RockFish" on his line,
up swings another "Toad"!
<><><>
Now Peter Paul has duely gained;
a "handle" from his peers,
"Toad Master" he is timely named
and well known at the piers.
<><><>
He spends a lot of free time
on the water with a wish;
that the "curse" upon him would decline,
so he could catch some fish.
<><><>
But it makes no sense or never mind
in where he drops his line,
for what occurs, that awful curse
befalls him everytime.
<><><>
Dark clouds hover o'er the boat,
his bait lies on the bottom,
when comes a mighty splurge of hope,
and Paul screamed: "I got'im!"
<><><>
He's yelling: "it's a "keeper"...
"a big one for the road";
but as before.. luck stayed ashore,
for comes another "toad"!
<><><>
Paul moaned beneath his old straw hat
while grappling with the catch:
"Just what good is that?"..he asked
"to hook another match".
<><><>
"I wonder when this wicked trend,
of catching "Toads" will end...
and bring me back my favorite dish
that I'm so desperate in."
<><><>
"What on earth is going on? "
the question that he posed:
"What have I done to be so prone
in catching only "toads"
<><><>
Also questions that he asks
makes fishing seem a task
and not the way it oughta be;
but pleasure that will last!
<><><>
If, or where you ever snare
a slimey, stinking "toad"
you will find a mess to bear
in one big nasty load.
<><><>
And when you land him on the deck,
you'll need a bunch of tools,
a butcher knife to dissect
and pliers there for the pulls.
<><><>
A hack- saw handy just in case
the knife will only slide,
to clear away the massive waste
beyond the toughest hide.
<><><>
Then recall what goes with Paul,
that yours will be just one;
and not the trend that follows him,
that adds up to a ton!
<><><>
But just today I got a call,
from Buckroe's brand new pier,
It was the voice of Peter Paul
with great news that I hear.
<><><>
"I caught em all", beamed Peter Paul,
"at least a hundred score,
and not one toad there in the load,
I'm freed forever more!"
