German Participation Grade

Each class period is worth 3 participation points. Students receive positive points if they actively participate and speak German and are on-task. Points may be subtracted for no book/required work, missing assignment notebook, inappropriate language/behavior, use of English, being off-task (not paying attention, goofing off, not having book open, not doing the required activity, head on desk..), going to locker/restroom... If a student is absent, 0 points will be given. If a student is on a school related field trip and informed me in advance and got assignments for when they return, half-credit will be given.

German Extra Credit
Students may earn German marks, redeemable for extra credit at the end of the quarter. On Monday, students are responsible for asking for their marks from the previous week. It is the students' responsibility to keep track of their money. Marks must be turned in before the end of the quarter to receive points. Marks will not carry over into the next quarter. If marks are counterfeit or stolen, no points will be given. Marks are not transferrable to another person. If you have more than you need or want at the end of the quarter, some small items may be available for purchase.
No absences or tardies for 1 week = 100 DM
1 week of homework = 100 DM
Prepared for class every day = 100 DM (On desk, ready to go at beginning of period)
