Grade Parent Duties/Guidelines
Grade Parents shall meet with the class teachers at the beginning
of the academic year. Always remember to request a class list
for contacting other parents. Provide the teacher with your
contact information.
Grade Parents shall assist the teacher and be willing to contact
other parents to assist when needed.
Examples of some class activities that may require the assistance
of Grade Parents:
· Snowflake Bazaar – assist and/or assign other
parents to assist in the preparation/decoration of the ornaments
· Holy Thursday Program – assist and/or assign
other parents to assist in the setup, decorating and clean up
· Teacher Appreciation Day - assist and/or assign other
parents to assist to help cover the classrooms so the teachers
may attend the luncheon
In addition to the activities listed above, certain grades
may require additional assistance:
· Kindergarten – decorate, clean up and serve
at the Kindergarten Celebration
· Grade 2 – assist and/or assign others to assist
with decorating and cleaning up after the First Penance Celebration
and the 8th Grade Buddy Celebration
· Grade 7 – assist and/or assign others to assist
with the 8th Grade Banquet
· Grade 8 – assist and/or assign others to assist
with the Meatball Luncheon, the preparation of the 8th Grade
video gift, the car washes and other fundraisers held during
the year
Other Responsibilities
· Attendance at all HSA Executive Board meetings is
required, so that you may act as representatives of the general
membership
· Attendance at all HSA meetings to welcome parents
of your particular grade as they sign attendance sheets prior
to the start of the meeting
· Be aware of all committed activities and school events,
regardless of meeting attendance to provide the appropriate
references when parents express interest or concern
· Encourage parents to speak directly with the teacher
and/or principal regarding child-centered concerns
· Keep in contact with the teacher throughout the year
to see if anything additional is needed
