Grade Parents shall assist the teacher and be willing to contact other parents to assist when needed.

Examples of some class activities that may require the assistance of Grade Parents:

· Snowflake Bazaar – assist and/or assign other parents to assist in the preparation/decoration of the ornaments

· Holy Thursday Program – assist and/or assign other parents to assist in the setup, decorating and clean up

· Teacher Appreciation Day - assist and/or assign other parents to assist to help cover the classrooms so the teachers may attend the luncheon

In addition to the activities listed above, certain grades may require additional assistance:

· Kindergarten – decorate, clean up and serve at the Kindergarten Celebration

· Grade 2 – assist and/or assign others to assist with decorating and cleaning up after the First Penance Celebration and the 8th Grade Buddy Celebration

· Grade 7 – assist and/or assign others to assist with the 8th Grade Banquet

· Grade 8 – assist and/or assign others to assist with the Meatball Luncheon, the preparation of the 8th Grade video gift, the car washes and other fundraisers held during the year

Other Responsibilities

· Attendance at all HSA Executive Board meetings is required, so that you may act as representatives of the general membership

· Attendance at all HSA meetings to welcome parents of your particular grade as they sign attendance sheets prior to the start of the meeting

· Be aware of all committed activities and school events, regardless of meeting attendance to provide the appropriate references when parents express interest or concern

· Encourage parents to speak directly with the teacher and/or principal regarding child-centered concerns

· Keep in contact with the teacher throughout the year to see if anything additional is needed
