My Personality

It's important to me to be reliable, responsible, professional, and fun to work with. I'm an easy-going, genuine guy determined to work hard to meet YOUR needs.

My Education

I've been composing music ever since I first sat down at the piano at age 7. Although I took piano lessons to become proficient at performing, my real passion was always creating my own original music. At age 10 I picked up the trumpet as well.   I have a degree in Music Composition with Film Scoring Emphasis from the University of Southern California. In the heart of Los Angeles, USC gave me not only a solid, classical music education, but the opportunity to learn alongside working composers and participate in actual film scoring sessions. Trained by some of the industry's top professionals, including Christopher Young, David Raksin, Jack Smalley, David Spear, George Burt, Ed Kalnins, Brian King, and Joe Harnell, I recorded much of my own music with studio players at Paramount Studios, Entourage Studios, and USC scoring stages. While at USC I was reconized with several awards, including the prestigious BMI Student Composer Award and the BMI Award for Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television.

My Process

I compose nightly in my home studio. I have all of the capabilities to create electronic recordings using synthesized and sampled instrument sounds or to create scores and parts for live recording. I play the piano and trumpet but can compose for anything. I can provide music files on cd or hard disk in pretty much any format. I have no set rate for payment and just desire compensation that is appropriate to the size and scope of the project.

Other Stuff

I've always lived in Southern California. I grew up in the small beach town of San Clemente, and after graduating from college moved back down to Orange County.  In college, I was a member of the USC Trojan Marching Band, which was a great opportunity to play gigs not only in L.A. but all around the country. It was also a great opportunity to enjoy the fun and entertaining side of music and "the college experience," and to not take everything so seriously! I also played in the L.A. Lakers Band for the 2001-2002 season. I continue to be a die-hard fan of both teams, but especially the Trojans.   I met my wife, Meghan, when I was 15. We were together throughout high school and college, and got married upon graduation from college. She continues to be my strongest source of support and has a wonderful, natural ability to critique music and films.
