Lucket Frohock Lucket Frohock of Cambrideshire, England, married Eleanor Norman on 12 May 1764. On 22 April 1792 Bapt of William Phipps illegitimate son of Elizabeth Frohog. So William was illegitimate although the father's name was given at baptism. See further details on notes for William Frohawk. ------------------------------------------------------- William There was difficulty finding this baptism but the following explains: Elizabeth, William's mother was the fourth of eight children born to Lucket Frohock and Eleanor Norman, both of the parish of Dry Drayton. On 22 April 1792 Bapt of William Phipps illegitimate son of Elizabeth Frohog, although the father's name was given at baptism, presumably because he acknowledged, a child would normally grow up with the mother's name, and there is no further sign of William Phipps. It is understandable that a child with his background would grow up to develop into the slightly dubious branch of the Frohocks, unlike the well to do farming branch. One can understand that the marriage to Susan as a step down the ladder. ---------------------------------------------- The above William FROHAWK married Elizabeth BARLOW in 1816, in Madingley, Cambridgeshire, England.
