Here are some pictures from my sketch book that represents some of my better work drawing Futurama characters. Many are just pencil drawings and are very lite and I apologize if they are not very clear. I will work on getting larger size scans up as soon as I can.
Other drawing on here are in pen. Even though I work alot in pencil for layouts and so forth I like to draw in pen. I think it may have something to do with my profession. I really recommend drawing in pen as alot of people feel the line is too permanent and they cannot erase it which is what I like about it. It forces you to put a line down and become more confidant in what you are doing.
Anyways, hope you enjoy my work. For the time being because of space considerations I cannot except fan art from other people. Some day if I ever get my own domain with a larger space I will take solicitations. Enjoy! Or not.

The loveable rascal - Bender. Here I tried to get the hang of drawing the human Bender. I had alot of fun with it and actually picked it up much faster than I have Bender in robot form. As you can tell by this page I do spend quite alot of time drawing the same thing over and over again so that I can get more comfortable with it. Then once I get to a point I feel pretty good about it I will try to add a little emotion to it. This page has a couple of those pictures. Overall a fun guy to draw.

Professor Farnsworth - the first character I learned to draw from Futurama and the one I like doing the most. Again, this is at a point after I feel pretty comfortable with doing him and can start to get some action or emotion into him. Overall I think he comes out pretty well, however, I still don't think that the way I draw him makes him look old. He just doesn't have that old decrepit look to him if you know what I mean.

Fry is one that I had a hard time getting ahold of. I probably draw him the most trying to get him down. Since I draw him so much he has become a little easier to put into action and other stuff. This is actually part of another drawing that I was working on with Leela and Bender. I was using this as a study to use in the other picture. I decided not to go with this pose but a different one but thought I would show this anyways.

Next to Fry I draw Leela the most. Even though I think it looks pretty good it still is missing something. I think it has something to do with drawing a woman. Anyways, overall I think this is a pretty good picture and came while I had been practing drawing her from the other side. Usually I start with a standard view then once I get comfortable with that one I start with the character looking the other way. Like I said next to Fry I draw her the most and have alot of fun with it.

Now here is something you don't see everyday. A fan art of Mom. I really like all the characters on Futurama and have really concentrated on picking up the secondary characters and not just the main ones. I have some preliminary work on her sidekicks but haven't gotten very far with those as of yet. I haven't gotten very far with Mom and this represents the best of my work with her. I like her though - her scowl and ill tempered manner are really fun! You can see a little sketch of Mom to the right as well as a pencil sketch of Leela on the left. I literally fill up pages and pages of little doodles - some are full drawings and others are part drawing like just eyes, mouths and even hands.

Hot Rod Zoidberg! For me one of the hardest characters to get used to drawing. Like Farnsworth I think I have gotten to be pretty good at it but there is still something missing from my Zoidberg. I know it will just take some time to get it completely right but for the time being I am happy about it. I had some other ones that I didn't scan in of Zoidberg angry and with a scowl on his face. Those were pretty good but I made so many corrections to them that they weren't worth scanning in and displaying.
Zoidberg is one of my favorite characters from Futurama and I hope I can get good drawing him. He is so fun!

Hopefully this page is not to lite and you will be able to see it. This is one of my 'doodle' pages with lots of stuff with Amy and Fry. Different expressions and just trying to explore different possibilities. Amy is really fun but I still cannot get her down to where she looks good. Space permitting I will post a larger scan of this for people to see.

Leela from both sides. As you can probably tell it needs a little work as she doesn't look quite the same from different angles. Good old Mom and Zoidberg included here as well. I like the Zoidberg as it is in pretty good character for him.

Again, sorry about the lite scan on this. After I drew this it hit me that I have seen this before. A seller on eBay was selling a drawing by Bill Morrison on this exact scene. It must have crawled into my subconscious and it came out of my pencil. Sorry Mr. Morrison.
Other than Leela's hands being to small I am really happy with this drawing. I hope to finish this off some day by going over with an ink pen. Then I can change the hands on Leela. This was the second or third time I drew this picture as in other attempts Fry was out of scale with Leela. Even though you might not be able to see him here he is prett close I think.

Here is a 3D rendering and model I did of Bender awhile back. The program that I used is 3D Studio Max. Overall I think he came out pretty good. Most of the proportions came out OK but not perfect. The coloring is a little off as well and if I knew more about computer animation I probably could animate him better than this sill pose he is in.
I chose to do Bender because I figured he would be the easiest to do. He is mostly simple shapes and nothing really complicated going on with any of his anatomy. At some point I hope to do the Planet Express ship and then will either try my hand at another Bender model, one of the other robots from the show or even the Planet Express building.
