Radio Shack As Senior Manager for a
large computer and electronics corporation I was responsible for both the
managerial and technical aspects of the store operations. The managerial
responsibilities consisted of sales growth, training and goal setting for
personnel, efficient inventory control and Good sales growth awarded me the honor of the most sales gains 2 years in a row and "Manager of the Month" 7 times. 12 years of technical experience in computers and electronics led to my diagnostic reputation. Subsequently, my supervisor and other store managers referred customer support questions to me. With my promotion to Senior Manager in 1986, I became the district trainer in computers, electronic communications, security systems and satellite installation. I also conducted orientation to new store managers through on the job guidance and evaluation. Initially, I started as a manager trainee. Through good personal sales I was promoted 3 months later to my own store. Then, after 1 year, I was promoted to one of the major mall stores due to my successful store operations.
From the Beginning After graduating from Oklahoma State University, I worked for two different finance companies advancing to manager from trainee at both positions. During the later position I decreased delinquency and earned awards for loan volume, while gaining valuable experience in making a profit and managing people. I earned a college degree by working a full time job as an athlete on a football scholarship. Each summer I worked on heavy construction jobs. My job experience began
during the summer, after the seventh grade, driving a tractor on the farm.
The following summers I also operated combines on the wheat harvest. On the
farm I learned my work ethic – to do the job right.
