Chromed poverty
Chapter 1
“Lisa wake up” said her mother in a rushed voice “come on Lisa you have to get up its time to go”. Lisa groaned and looked at her cheap wristwatch that she won at a free carnival, 2:00 in the afternoon , it was time go Lisa gathered her meager possession and stuffed them in a small schoolbag , she didn’t go to school she had to work to just get enough money to buy something from the bargain box. She mounted her bike and started pedaling as fast as she could to the nearby soup kitchen to get in line for supper yes it was early but at times like these you were desperate for the food , they usually stood in line for hours at a time just to get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and chicken noodle soup. Times were hard for Lisa and her family, She found work at the least satisfying job there is which wasn’t really a job anyway , she went around everyday picking up beer and soda cans off the ground and selling them to a iron dealer. She was a strong willed young woman and she couldn’t wait till the day she struck it rich.
