Gas Tank Refurbish
I'm using the stock tank from  the car.  When I first pulled the tank, I had it dipped at a radiator shop to boil it clean.  It sat that way with a spray can coat of primer on it forever.  I recently began refinishing it.  First, it got a good coat of 2k primer and then a couple of coats of the Quiet Cote product I used throughout the body.  More primer and then several coats of black Acrylic Enamel.

For the inside, I used 2
POR-15 products called Marine Clean and Tank Sealer.  The cleaner had to be sloshed around for seemingly forever and then drained and washed out.  After it had dried completely, the quart of sealer was added and all holes taped shut.  After rotating the tank around for awhile longer to ensure coverage of the entire surface, sealer was then drained and the tank was left to dry.  This product left a very solid feeling coating on the tank and hopefully gave this piece years  of leak free life.

The sending unit is next.  i chose to replace the original unit with this one from
Centroid Products, in Florida.  Since I'm using new Autometer guages, This piece allowed me to get the correct setup for the fuel guage.  You can get them to custom cut the length you need and it comes with great instructions on calibration.  Of course it matches the holes in our tanks and all I had to buy extra were some new screws due to the thickness difference in the top piece.

Finally, the mounting straps were refurbished and are ready for he install .
