A dangerous sport at best because it often involves sex in a public place such as a park or rest area. It is a real part of gay life and goes on in Lafayette as it does across the world. The dangerous part of this habit not only includes the possibility of physical harm to the cruiser in Louisiana, but also a new state law of which you should be aware.
Sexual contact between persons of the same sex is defined in Louisiana Criminal Law as a "Crime Against Nature". Anyone convicted of this crime must publish an article in the local newspaper on two occasions advising everyone of his conviction. Additionally, he must send a written notice to all neighbors living within a one mile radius of his residence advising them of the crime for which he was convicted. Think about this.
