Equipment

For more than 20 years, Geraldine and I photographed with our tried and true Nikon SLR cameras. Geraldine shot with her beloved Nikon's F3 High-Point camera, while I used Nikon's N90s and F100 cameras, complemented by an assortment of lenses. Recently, Geraldine and I took the plunge into the exciting world of digital photography. Geraldine was the first to do so with the purchase of Nikon's Coolpix 3200 compact camera. We were both blown away by the image quality captured by this diminutive digital camera. Also, the close-up images captured via the macro mode were simply stunning.

Soon, thereafter, I acquired Nikon's D70 DSLR camera kit, including a 18mm to 80mm ED zoom lens. I also own Nikon's 60mm f2.8 macro and 75mm-300mm f4.5-5.6 lenses. Simply put, the image quality captured by the D70 is awesome. It captures very sharp images and is very intuitive and responsive. I am extremely pleased with this camera and highly recommend it. In fact, several images featured in our galleries were captured with our digital cameras. More recently, Geraldine purchased Nikon's Coolpix 8800 digital camera, which features a zoom range from 35mm to 350mm with vibration reduction, to complement her compact Coolpix 3200 camera. Once again, the image quality of this new camera is fantastic.

I also own Epson's Perfection 4870 flatbed scanner with Digital ICE, as well as their newly released Stylus Photo 1800 printer. Both products are first rate and produce professional results. I highly recommend these products, as well.

Both Geraldine and I love our equipment, but we love taking pictures even more!  I must admit, however, that I'm also a Photoshop fanatic.  When not taking pictures, you'll find me fine-tuning my images in Photoshop.   Geraldine calls herself a "computer widow!  I promised her that I would  attend a PA (Photoshop Anonymous) group soon.
