GDM Consulting offers a series of predefined engagements for our clients.  Following is a sample of available consulting programs which are offered.

 

Strategic Relationship Management Programs  

Prioritizing and Optimizing Relationships for Executives

This program is designed specifically for executives who need to balance multiple internal and external priorities.  Participants will engage in three business sessions.

  • Session 1 will be a two hour meeting or conference call during which we will discuss the multitude of relationships that must be managed and the impact these have on the business, both short and long term.
  • Session 2 will be a half day seminar where we will define criteria for prioritizing these relationships and develop preliminary strategies to optimize their value.  It is highly recommended that this seminar be held "off-site".
  • Session 3 will be  a half day seminar where we will jointly develop strategies for the most critical relationships and define relationship management standards for the organization at large.  It is highly recommended that this seminar be held "off-site".

In order to maximize the effectiveness of this engagement, the overall group size should be no fewer than four people and no more than seven people.

Prioritizing and Optimizing Relationships for Sales Personnel and Sales Team Leaders

Sales professionals have the unique responsibility of representing their company's interests to clients and representing their clients' interests within their own organization.  This engagement begins with a preliminary meeting with your sales leadership to ensure that the program will produce meaningful results for your team.  The ensuing one day seminar focuses on defining the internal and external relationships which need to be managed, prioritizing these relationships, aligning with  client goals, setting customer expectations and creating customer ecstasy.

Prioritizing and Optimizing Relationships for Operations Staff

Delivery personnel, customer service and support teams, and back office operations staff play a critical role in organizational continuity and customer satisfaction.  GDM Consulting recognizes this crucial but often overlooked role of the operations team.  This one day engagement takes the operations staff through a series of mini-trainings and participatory exercises to build necessary competencies within the team.  Depending on the particular needs of the organization, topics covered may include:  aligning multiple sets of objectives; effective communication; project and program management; managing against goals, objectives and milestones; and, establishing meaningful metrics.

Programs Defined to Help Raise Venture Capital  

Raising Venture Capital – Platinum Plan

For clients hoping to raise $1 million to $10 million in venture funding as a first, second or third round.  Client has prepared a draft business plan, but requires additional expertise to refine it to meet expectations of potential investors.  Client will receive coaching on various aspects of the plan and process, as well as support in preparing the necessary documents.  Consultant will lead development of materials for investor presentations and advise on materials that should be prepared for future stages of the process.  Includes:

  • Refinement of Mission, Values, and Objectives through a Learning Session (typically 3-4 hours)
  • Business Plan Review and Refinement
  • Capitalization Review (pre- and post-event capitalization tables)
  • Business Model and Financial Statement Review
  • Complete SWOT Analysis with Client
  • Preparation of Deck to Present to Venture Companies
  • Presentation Coaching
  • Review of items to prepare for Venture Companies’ due diligence process
  • Up to two visits to client site for 2 days / 1 night each (travel and hotel) during engagement

Raising Venture Capital – Gold Plan

For clients hoping to raise $1 million to $10 million in venture funding as a first, second or third round.  Client has prepared a business plan, has effective mission and vision statements, and has completed a SWOT analysis.  Client requires an independent review of prepared material and assessment of what else is needed.  Client will receive feedback on plans, assistance in developing presentation deck, and coaching on delivery to investors.  Includes:

  • Review of Mission, Values, and Objectives
  • Business Plan Review and Refinement
  • Capitalization Review (pre- and post-event capitalization tables)
  • Review of client’s SWOT Analysis
  • Preparation of Deck to Present to Venture Companies
  • Presentation Coaching (within 15 days of deck completion)
  • Up to one visit to client site for 2 days / 1 night (travel and hotel)

Raising Venture Capital – Silver Plan

For clients hoping to raise $1 million to $10 million in venture funding as a first, second or third round.  Client has prepared a business plan, has effective mission and vision statements, has completed a SWOT analysis, and has a complete (scalable) business model.  Client requires an independent review of prepared material and assessment of what is needed.  With nominal direction, client will be able to refine plan, develop presentation deck, and deliver effective investment presentations .  Includes:

  • Review of Mission, Values, and Objectives
  • Business Plan Review and Feedback
  • Capitalization Review (pre- and post-event capitalization tables)
  • Review of Deck to Present to Venture Companies (within 15 days of plan feedback)
  • Two hours of presentation coaching / review (within 15 days of plan feedback)

Raising Venture Capital – Bronze Plan

For clients hoping to raise $1 million to $10 million in venture funding as a first, second or third round.  Client has prepared a business plan, has effective mission and vision statements, has completed a SWOT analysis, and has a complete (scalable) business model.  Client requires an independent review of prepared material and assessment of plan effectiveness.  Includes:

  • Review of Mission, Values, and Objectives
  • Business Plan Structure Review and Feedback
  • Recommendations of additional information (sections) to be incorporated into plan and identification of inconsistencies

Raising Money Through a Private Placement

For clients hoping to raise $200,000 to $1 million in funding through a private placement.  Client has prepared a business plan, has effective mission and vision statements, has completed a SWOT analysis, and has a complete (scalable) business model.  Client requires an independent review of prepared material and assessment of what is needed.  Includes:

  • Basic Business Plan Review
  • Capitalization Review (pre- and post-event capitalization tables)
  • Preparation of Deck to Present to Brokers
  • Broker Review and Selection, including negotiation support
  • Coaching and support in development of Private Placement Memorandum (PPM)
  • Single visit for 2 days / 1 night to client site (travel and hotel)

$15,000 for first $300,000 gross
4% of gross over $300,000 but less than $500,000
3% of gross over $500,000

 

Interim and Part Time Executive Assignments  

Interim CEO, President, or COO

Transition in an organization is often difficult.  A change in leadership is one specific area that presents a unique set of challenges that are often best addressed by a non-politically motivated and experienced executive.  Gary Markin, President and CEO of GDM Consulting, provides this transitional leadership.  Depending on the length of the assignment and the particular needs of the organization, a program will be designed to meet the client needs in a cost effective manner.  Whether the interim assignment is measured in months or quarters, GDM Consulting can help make the transition as smooth as possible.
