IRC - Internet Relay Chat.
"Chat", talking back and forth, keyboard to keyboard, in real time, as it
happens, is available between users of all kinds of ISP's (Internet Service
Providers, Server)

Some people prefer another IRC software called "Visual IRC". This is freeware.

After software for IRC is downloaded, connect to DalNet, then connect to
channel " #kites " for kite discussions in "real time". The discussions occuring
at any one time may or may not be about kites, but everyone on the channel
is a kite flyer of some sort, so it is a great place to ask questions and
get answers.

Published by Masters level kite competitor Mike Gillard in Ohio, Kite Life
is a comprehensive electronic magazine by, about, and for kiters of all kinds.

There are e-mail forwarding sites where people "subscribe", and then any
of the members can post a question or announcement and it is automatically
forwarded to all the other members of the group. It is a great way to keep
informed of things happening in the kite community.
Two such groups ithe northeast USA are NEKITE and ConnectiKITERS.
