Welcome from our President

The theme for the
2008-2010 Club year
for the state of Nebraska is
"GFWC Nebraska Lights the Way".

The NFWC exists to support
both the local chapters
in Nebraska and to
represent the state
into the GFWC,
our international
parent organization.

Join us in supporting
community projects,
developing leadership skills,
entering a network of
international volunteers,
giving a voice in
legislative issues,
gaining a national and
international perspective of
women's volunteer clubs, and
become a member of a
world renowned organization,
the GFWC,
whose motto is
"Unity in Diversity".

Sincerely,

Janice Predoehl,
NFWC President
Welcome to the official website of the
Nebraska Federation of Women's Clubs

The GFWC Nebraska Federation of Women's Club, Inc. is a civic organization, organized in 1894 (Mrs. James H Canfield, President). NFWC was admitted to the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) in that same year. NFWC was incorporated in 1922 and adopted Universal Membership in 1925. Today, the NFWC represents local GFWC chapters in the State of Nebraska.

The GFWC Nebraska Federation club members are volunteers representing the full spectrum of women today, women who are interested in self-improvement as well as community improvement. These volunteers are united in their local community efforts across the state of Nebraska.

The purpose of the organization is to unite in giving service to our communities and our state in the areas of educational, civic and community betterment. Our members give their time, talents, and resources to improve the quality of life through service to others. We strive to become responsible, dynamic leaders in our communities.

LOCAL CLUBS: Local GFWC clubs meet monthly and offer educational and enlightening programs. Each club decides its own projects and community involvement. This diversity has kept GFWC Nebraska strong since its establishment in 1896.

If you are not a member of a local club, here is a link to a comprehensive list of all GFWC clubs in the State of Nebraska. Nebraska Local Clubs

Realizing that we are a mobile society, it is important to understand that there are GFWC local clubs all around the world. Continuing your membership in a local club where you are relocating to is an excellent way to assimilate into the new community. The GFWC maintains a partial list of those clubs.
