Conservation is a concern for all GFWC members. There are two areas you can participate in: Beautification Program and Resource Conservation. Please check the GFWC Club Manual under the green tab marked “Conservation.” You will find many program ideas and resource materials. Awards are also listed. Reports are due on February 1st of each year. Remember to report all club activities regardless if they are mentioned in the program book. All projects are important.

Ronald McDonald House Kathy Flock, your NFWC president has named this as one of her special projects. We are again asking the Clubs to save pop-tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. This is a very important project but also easy to do. Ask your school children to save them and offer a little incentive. They are scavengers! Also, get your entire community involved. Many clubs in your community already gather pop-tabs, but spread the word to others. This year we are continuing the project to help the Ronald McDonald House: “Pennies for Ron’s Kitchen.” They are in need of new stoves, new counter tops and a new floor. Each club president should have a small Ronald McDonald House, which they can bring to each club meeting to collect change from the members. At each State Convention, a check will be presented to Kevin Warneke from the Ronald McDonald House for this project. This is just a small way that each member can make a difference and make the families at the home feel “at home.”
